How can someone inflict such cruelty

Upon another human being?

Such misery, such hunger

Not hunger just within my stomach,

But hunger within my mind

I am hungry

Hungry to leave this place if given the opportunity

Hungry to run away from this horrid existence

Hungry to return to my once safe life

If this is true hunger

Then I am starved

Absolutely famished

I'll outsmart them

I'll count the days

I'll go home

To my mom and dad who will be waiting patiently

To the table filled with my favorite meals

To safety

To love

Insanity

That is what this is

I am filled by my memories

And nothing more

Memories before it was all taken from me

My innocence

My life

My love

Me

Before I

Was

Taken
